FAQs
Cellular telephone Networks require that all prospective customers are subject to a credit check before connection, unless they are buying a prepaid product.
This is because fraud is a big problem in the cellular telephone market. They want to check that the applicant actually exists and that they are who they say they are.
Also, a cellular telephone provides potentially unlimited credit, particularly when used abroad. The Network needs to ensure that all new customers have the means to pay their bills.
If you don't have a South African bank account, it is very difficult for us to connect you to one of the Networks, with the exception of prepaid products. You may need to settle for a prepaid option until you have set up a bank account.
