The Pre-Paid division of Altech Autopage Cellular provides pre-paid information and services to consumers and facilitates the purchase of pre-paid airtime for any of the three cellular networks as well as Telkom in either physical or virtual format . Scoring an industry "first" in January 2001 when, in a joint venture with ABSA, it launched the country's first virtual system for electronically distributing pre-paid recharge vouchers for cellular phones.
Through the ABSA ATM network, all Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and Telkom pre-paid subscribers can purchase airtime around South Africa. ABSA Internet banking users can also purchase vouchers online. eTopUp, distributed and supported by Pre-Paid, is a PC-based virtual voucher distribution system designed for use by wholesalers or retailers. All three of the cellular networks as well as Telkom vouchers are available on this system, which provides comprehensive and effective end-to-end management of all stock and assets associated with pre-paid virtual vouchers. Free software provided with the eTopUp solution is encrypted to an extremely high level to ensure total control and security. The system records each sale, including the date and time and numerous reports are available to enhance management and profitability. |
