Repair Terms & Conditions

  1. I confirm that I have handed my handset in for repairs, and acknowledge that Altech Autopage is accepting the handset as an agent on behalf of the manufacturer/supplier.
  2. In the event that the handset and/or the damage to the handset is not covered by the manufacturers warranty, which decision is within the sole discretion of the manufacturer the subscriber agrees to the following:
    1. Altech Autopage shall obtain a quote from the manufacturer's approved repair centre for the repair of the handset, and the subscriber must accept or reject the quote within 3 (three) working days of being notified by Altech Autopage of the quote, failing which the subscriber shall be deemed to have rejected the quote.
    2. On acceptance by the subscriber of the quote, by signing the quote received from the authorised repair centre, or accepting the quote telephonically, Altech Autopage shall be entitled to charge the quoted amount, payable at point of collection.
    3. Should the cost to repair the handset be R400.00 (four hundred rand) including VAT, or less, Altech Autopage may proceed to give consent on behalf of the subscriber to the authorised repair centre to repair the handset without obtaining the subscriber's prior notification.
    4. In the event that the subscriber rejects a quote or should the handset be beyond economical repair, the subscriber shall be liable to pay a handling fee/rejection fee of an amount determined by the manufacturer, payable at point of collection.
  3. Once Altech Autopage has notified the subscriber to collect the handset either telephonically or per SMS or e-mail, the subscriber shall have a period of 90 (ninety) days to collect the handset from Altech Autopage, failing which, the handset will be sold by Altech Autopage or the authorised repair centre to defray costs, or destroyed, in Altech Autopage's sole discretion.
  4. The subscriber agrees that all risk associated with the handset shall vest with the subscriber at all times and neither Altech Autopage nor the authorised repair centre shall be liable for any loss or damage to the handset, including any loss of data on the handset at any point in time.
  5. The subscriber agrees that in the event that Altech Autopage collects and/or delivers the affected handset/s from/to the subscriber then the subscriber shall be liable for all courier costs incurred.
  6. The following conditions pertain to Liquid Damage, Physical Damage or prior unauthorized repair work on the repair unit:
    1. Any Liquid Damaged/Unauthorised repaired phone, which we have attempted to repair, will no longer carry the manufacturer's workshop warranty.
    2. A minimum labour fee of R240.00 (excl. VAT) for liquid damaged phones or R160.00 (excl. VAT) for unauthorised repaired phones will be charged. This excludes the price of any components/parts replaced.
    3. Only one attempt will be made to repair the handset. The repairer is not liable for any further repairs or faults occurring thereafter.
    4. If the damage is too severe to repair, or if the handset is beyond economical repair, the handset will be returned not repaired.
  7. The customer understands and accepts that he/she is aware that all repair processes, policies and turn-around -times are dependant on the manufacturer concerned and Autopage absolves itself from any liability arising out of the said repair processes, policies and turn-around-times.
